What does a SuperUser do?
SuperUsers are trained volunteers that help students with class, senior, and graduate projects. Our Mission Statement is as follows:
The mission of the MakerSpace is to establish a unique, collaborative environment “dedicated to learning, discovery, and community engagement.” By providing our students with a plethora of equipment, technologies, and resources, we ensure the facilitation of creativity, problem solving, and innovation.

As a SuperUser you agree to the following terms and conditions:
- I promise to help guests when they enter the MakerSpace. I will uphold professional , appearances and greetings, while providing the best service I can.
- I agree to assist in the operations of the lab and commit a designated amount of time each week to run the MakerSpace. In assisting with operations, I will ensure the users are abiding by the rules of the MakerSpace.
- I will arrive on time for every shift and stay for the entirety of my assigned shift. If for whatever reason I am unable to be present during my shift, I will give the directors of the MakerSpace a 24 hour notice of my absence. I will also take the responsibility to cover the shift in which I will not be present with another superuser. If for any reason I do not show up for a shift without notice (24 hours), I understand that after two no shows I may lose my privileges as a super user.
- I understand that there must be two SuperUsers in the space at any given time.
- I understand that there is a capacity to each space; 30 users (ERIC Space) and only the specified amount of users are free to utilize the space at any given time and as such, will make the necessary efforts not to exceed capacities.
- I will not have food or drink inside of the MakerSpace.
- I will clean up the MakerSpace after every shift.
- I am aware of where the fire extinguisher, first aid kit, phone and emergency contact list is and will utilize all equipment if necessary. In the case an emergency, I am aware of how to contact campus police and Greensboro Police Department.
- I will make every effort to attend all SuperUser meetings.
- I will put the square root of forty nine in comment section of the new SuperUser form to show that I've read these.
- I understand that I may have access to the MakerSpace outside of normal hours of operation. However, I am only allowed to bring up to 3 people with me at any given time. When I have guests in the MakerSpace with me outside of normal business hours, the only operable space in the lab is the projector. I agree not to utilize any other equipment in the lab when accompanied by other guests.
- I understand that being a SuperUser is a privilege, a voluntary responsibility, and therefore a priority. From here on out, I will make every effort to fulfill the duties stated within this agreement.
- I have read and I agree to all of the terms and conditions associated with the MakerSpace. Upon the signing of this agreement and the fulfillment of all requirements from this point on, I will be referred to as a SuperUser.
